Charlie and Paul Ripley in the Kidney Kitchen

Charlie was diagnosed with a genetic kidney condition called nephronophthisis, (NPHP) when he was just eight years old.

He always enjoyed cooking, and was devastated when he learned that he would have to follow a kidney diet, "Everything I read seemed to be about what I couldn’t eat, not what Icould – just a big, long list of no's!"

After finding the Kidney Kitchen and cooking various recipes, Charlie was invited to Cornwall – complete with my dialysis machine – to meet Chef Ripley and the whole team behind Kidney Kitchen and cooking up two brand new recipes.
