The Black Living Donor Choir have moved audiences across the UK with their soulful songs and inspirational stories. The Market House sets the perfect stage for their World Kidney Day Concert.
The choir take to the stage at Brixton's Market House on Sunday 17 March 2024 for an unforgettable experience that combines the narration of inspirational living donor stories with musical talent creating a unique opportunity for the audience to understand living kidney donation whilst grooving to the sounds of Disco, Reggae, Soul, Classical, Jazz and Gospel.
Dela Idowu, creator of the choir said "It's important to celebrate and honour our Black living donors so that the community can hear their stories of courage, sacrifice, love and the hope they have brought to many".
The concert is a poignant tribute to the people from the Black community living with chronic kidney disease in the UK.
Special performances by Samantha Antoinette and Colin Vassell
Samantha Antoinette is an international singer who has supported artists such as Lionel Richie, Paul McCartney, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner and Elton John and has performed in theatre shows like The Colour Purple and The Lion King.
Colin Vassell is a leading Gospel & Jazz singer was the musical director for several TV shows and live broadcasts such as BBC Morning Worship, he has performed at international concerts such as the Christmas Gospel Celebration at the Teatro Toniolo, Venice.
