Lakeland Dialysis Centre, Cockermouth, Cumbria

Lakeland Dialysis Centre is located in the heart of the Lake District in Cumbria. Operating since 2004, the centre offers high-quality care. The unit is equipped with four HDF machines, fully reclining chairs, and onsite parking, meaning you can arrive knowing you’re in safe hands.

What’s nearby?

The historic Cockermouth marketplace and Norman castle are just outside the centre of Cockermouth. Wordsworth House, birthplace of William Wordsworth, is also nearby.

Outside of the town itself, the market town Keswick and its Neolithic era stone circle are in easy reach with good transport connections to the centre.

Lake District National Park, England’s largest national park, is only a 15-minute drive away. Providing the opportunity to reconnect to nature with some truly breathtaking views of lakes, mountains, and forests, it’s a definite must see.

The KC Dialysis Centre is a friendly, family-run dialysis unit which supplies haemodialysis facilities for patients who wish to visit the seaside town of Bournemouth, Dorset, and the surrounding area. The unit has eight stations with fully reclining chairs and parking is available directly outside the unit. It also offers TVs, free snacks, and a personal call bell system.

The centre is a 10-minute drive, or 25-minute bus ride away, from the centre of the coastal resort town of Bournemouth. Home to sandy beaches, Grade II listed gardens as well as year-round events, there’s something for everyone.

Mermaid Centre, Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk

The Mermaid Centre is open between May and the end of September. The unit offers holiday dialysis on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from its base in Wells-next-the-Sea. The centre comes equipped with Fresenius 5008s HDF machines with fully reclining comfortable chairs, access to TV/DVD players, along with free Wi-Fi.

You can enjoy refreshments of tea and biscuits or a cold drink from the one of the four stations set up in front of garden views. The centre also has free car parking, disabled toilets, and wheelchair access.

In close proximity, Wells & Walsingham Light Railway offers a half-an-hour trip through the local Norfolk countryside. Warham Camp Iron Age Fort, Holkham Hall and Creake Abbey boast history-rich outings, and are all nearby. For nature and animal lovers, the National Trust Blakeney Nature Reserve is home to England’s largest Grey Seal colony with local boat tours available in the surrounding area.

Norfolk Holiday Dialysis Centre, Dersingham, Norfolk

The Norfolk Holiday Dialysis Centre is a small, friendly, nurse-run clinic with two Fresenius 5008 dialysis machines, reclining dialysis chairs, and free parking directly outside. It offers a relaxed and quiet environment with TV, free Wifi, and refreshments.

Based in Dersingham, the dialysis centre is a two-minute drive, or 12-minute walk away from the village of Dersingham, in Norfolk.

The centre is also only a three-minute drive from the famous Sandringham Estate and a 15-minute drive from the beaches in Snettisham and Hunstanton, home to the eye-catching ‘striped’ red and white chalk cliffs. Also, within easy reach, Norfolk Lavender is approximately a 10-minute drive away, boasting around 100 acres of lavender fields and an oil distillery, plus on-site gift shops and restaurant.
