Fast and flat, the Edinburgh Marathon is ideal if it’s your first marathon or you are looking for a personal best. Voted the fastest marathon in the UK by Runners World, the Edinburgh Marathon route takes you around Holyrood Park in the heart of Edinburgh.

How to take part

We have guaranteed charity places in this event, we ask for the registration fee and sponsorship below.

  • Marathon: registration fee: £50 minimum sponsorship: £500 minimum age for the marathon: 18 years
  • Half marathon: registration fee: £25 minimum sponsorship: £350 minimum age for the half marathon: 17 years
  • 10km: registration fee: £15 minimum sponsorship: £200 minimum age for the 10km: 15 years on race day
  • 5km: registration fee: £10 minimum sponsorship: £100 minimum age for the 5km: 5-11 years on race day

How to take part in the Edinburgh Marathon

I need a place

Our charity places are now open. Registration starts at £10 for 5km distance and the minimum fundraising target starts at £100.

I already have a place

If you already have a place and you'd like to use it to raise money for us, we'd love to have you on the team! There is no minimum target to raise.
