Kidney Care UK and South East Water are joining forces to make sure vulnerable people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) can access the vital support they need.
Through our partnership, the 76,000 people living with kidney disease in the South East Water supply area will benefit from a range of support services, including extra support through the Priority Services Register.
Kidney Care UK already supports people with kidney disease with services such as free counselling, cost-of-living advice and patient advocacy. We will be able to refer people we are helping who are South East Water customers directly to their vulnerability team so they can access better tariffs and additional assistance with debt.
There will also be a special freephone number available for South East Water customers with CKD who need support: 0800 952 4000.
This is an exciting partnership to transform the support our kidney community will receive in the south east of England. We are pleased to be working in partnership to be able to ensure that people with CKD in the south east are able to access all the support they need.Laurie Cuthbert, Director of Fundraising, Marketing & Communications at Kidney Care UK
Lucy Sibley, Community Partnership Lead at South East Water, said: "Our trusted partnership will enable Kidney Care UK to enrol patients across the south east onto our Priority Services Register and our affordability tariffs without the need for them to get in touch with us at all.
“We hope this will help relieve any stress relating to their water usage and bills and enable our customers to concentrate on their health and living their lives to their full potential.”
