Great North Swim

Dive into an unforgettable adventure this summer by taking part in the Great North Swim, set in the stunning Lake District! Whether you're an experienced swimmer or trying open water swimming for the first time, there's a distance for everyone to challenge themselves.

Below are the swim distances and the equivalent number of lengths in a standard 25m pool.

  • 250 metres (10 lengths) - minimum age 8 years
  • 1/2 mile (32 lengths) - min age 12 years
  • 1 mile (64 lengths) - min age 16 years
  • 2 miles (125 lengths)
  • 5km (200 lengths)
  • 10km (400 lengths)

Please note, participants must be a minimum of 8 years old for the 250m, 12 years old for the 1/2 mile, 16 years old for 1 mile, 2 miles and 5km and 18 years old for the 10km.

Your support will be making sure that no one faces kidney disease alone.
