Opportunities to prevent or diagnose chronic kidney disease (CKD) and offer treatments in the early stages are being missed. That's why Kidney Care UK is working hard to make CKD a political priority.
On 13 May 2025, Kidney Care UK will host a roundtable event in Westminster, bringing together people with CKD, clinical experts, policy makers and parliamentarians to think about policy solutions to improve the prioritisation and prevention of CKD and get more cases of CKD diagnosed earlier.
CKD is strongly associated with cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. Given the government's focus on prevention in healthcare, taking action on CKD must be a priority.
The meeting is called Prevention: Let's Talk Kidneys and is kindly sponsored by Jade Botterill MP.
We want as many MPs as possible at the event so they can hear why action on CKD is so urgent.
