6 spooky Halloween recipes

Whether you're hosting a party or baking trick-or-treat snacks, we’ve got you covered this Halloween with six kidney-friendly recipes that are as tasty as they are terrifying, all approved by our kidney dietitians.

While the spooky season is upon us, you may have reservations about what you can eat around Halloween. The holiday tends to be celebrated with sweets, chocolate, and party snacks which are often high in sugar, salt, and less healthy fats (saturated fat).

For some people living with CKD, these foods can pose a challenge, as they can be high in potassium, phosphate and salt.

Each of our Halloween recipes comes with detailed and easy-to-understand ‘Food facts’, so you can enjoy a spooky, food-filled holiday. However, we always recommend that you speak to your kidney dietitian for more personalised advice as everyone living with CKD will have slightly different diet requirements.
