Amar is a Cambridge mathematician, Harvard Business School alumni and Chartered Accountant who worked in the City for 10 years. In 2007, he left to become an entrepreneur and has since founded, grown and sold brands across various sectors, including Dishoom and MTHK. He has experience in business strategy, financial management and building customer-centric brands.
Amar has been a kidney patient for nearly 30 years, having been diagnosed with end stage renal failure as a teenager and managed work, study, travel and family life while on haemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and a short period as a transplant patient.
He uses his first-hand experience to raise awareness of patient health needs and has participated in dialysis orientation sessions and mentored young adults on dialysis.
