Henry is a retired Consultant Nephrologist with a clinical interest in transplantation. He previously worked as Clinical Director and Chair of Division at the Belfast City Hospital, where he had a particular focus on service development and patient safety, and was a Consultant Nephrologist at Antrim Hospital where he established the Renal Unit.

Henry has been a member of the Renal Association (now UKKA) Executive and Vice Chair of the Clinical Services Subcommittee. He has had a long association with Transplant Sports.

Henry has extensive experience in governance outside of his work, currently serving as Chair of the Board of Trustees of ScoutsNI and of a local charity working with people with mental health problems and learning difficulties.
