Sally is working as a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, having worked previously at Birmingham Women’s and Children’s Hospital since 1995.
She completed her doctorate with research conducted at the Institute of Child Health in London and has pioneered research and treatment in rare inherited kidney disorders, particularly those needing combined liver and kidney transplantation.
She is currently working within a team developing gene therapies for inherited kidney disease.
Sally has served on many national committees for the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and more recently acted as Vice President of the Renal Association and President of the British Association for Paediatric Nephrology from 2018 to 2021. She has a particular interest in medical ethics and served as an expert member of her hospital Ethics Committee for 12 years.
