Olly's story: living with kidney disease

Olly is just trying to be a normal little boy – who happens to be spending 84 hours a week on dialysis. He is living with stage 5 kidney failure and waiting for a transplant.

He's crying out at us, 'Mummy, Daddy, please, water.

We met Olly and his mum Dionne at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

After he was born, Olly didn't grow and develop as expected. At eight months he was still wearing a coat for a one-month-old baby. He was diagnosed with stage 5 kidney failure and has been on dialysis ever since while he waits for a life-saving kidney transplant.
